P3D : P3 Tackle Shapes and STEM

This term in P3 we are exploring 3D shapes.  This week we took part in a partner STEM task to build 3D shapes using lollipop sticks and playdough.  I think the results are fantastic! We definitely have some budding architects in our class .

Clan Elections 2023 Are Coming Soon

We are busy preparing for our yearly elections for Clan Chiefs (P7) and Clan Deputes (P6).

Our P6 and P7 teachers are currently preparing the children for the application and election process. All P6s and P7s are eligible to run for their clan chief or depute position and we believe that taking part can be an enriching experience for all who do.

Watch out for news on the election as it progresses.

Masterclasses Will Be Returning

Masterclasses will be returning during the next term.

Masterclasses are a tradition at Dalry, we run them in the last session on a Friday and children are given a choice from a range of activites provided by all our staff. Some will be extensions of curriculum items like languages and coding, others will be practical skills and fun activities like cooking or lego building.

The children are put into groups mixed across the school from p4-p7.

Look out for updates on what we get up to on the masterclasses tab on this website.

Missing Clothes, Property and Snack Boxes

We are only a few days into the new school year and already we are having reports of lost property.

The biggest cause of lost property in school is not the children leaving it somewhere, we expect that and try to gather it.

The biggest cause of lost property in school is unlabelled items.

With so many children wearing identically sized clothes, either uniform or sourced from the same shops, it is inevitable that confusion occurs and very often isn’t spotted at home.

The same is true of lunch boxes, water bottles and snack bags. There will definitly be anohter child or more with the same item.

Please label with, or write on all items and clothing, the child’s name and ideally surname and class as well.
