Covid – 19: What is the Process for Cases.

With the recent cases in school we have had requests to clarify the current processes for dealing with COVID-19 in school.

Below is a flow chart link which should answer many of these questions and make the procedures clearer.

Our thanks again to all families following these processes and the preventative measures around the school.

Flu Immunisation

Our Flu immunisation day is earlier than in recent years on Monday 27th September.

NHS Scotland particularly recommend all children recieve their flu vaccine this year because.

Flu can be serious , even for healthy children.

This reduces the risk of children spreading flu to friends and family

To help prevent flu adding to the strain on NHS services, especially alongside of COVID-19 this winter

The vaccine is given in school as a painless nasal (nose) spray, by the local NHS team.

For more information and links to BSL audio and a a range of different languages visit www.nhsinform.scot/childflu

COVID Community Testing At Fountainbridge Library

We have been asked to share the below information from City of Edinburgh Council.

Take a COVID-19 test, even if you don’t have symptoms

Regular testing for people with no COVID-19 symptoms is one of the ways we can all help keep our friends, families and communities safe. High school students are already offered regular lateral flow tests. We are now offering rapid community testing for people with no COVID-19 symptoms in neighbourhoods in Edinburgh where case numbers are or have been high.

Infection rates are higher in the community around your school than in some other areas of the city, so we’re asking people in the community with no COVID-19 symptoms to come for a test at Fountainbridge Library. We’re open from 9am to 6pm from Monday 31 May to Sunday 6 June. Children under 16 will need to be accompanied by a parent or carer.

If you can’t get to the library, you can order free rapid lateral flow test kits online or by phoning the National Testing Centre on 119.

As always anyone with symptoms should self-isolate and book a PCR test online or by calling the National Testing Centre on 119.

You can find out more at www.edinburgh.gov.uk/communitytesting

Thank you for your help.
