Mr D. ran one of the most anticipated assemblies of the year today.
The Dalry SPorts day and PE Star awards.
The winning teams from the lower and upper school were first up for their medals.
They were followed by Mr D’s PE Stars. Mr D. chooses his PE stars based on who has shown the most effort and determination in PE rather than simply those with the best results. PBs and PMA are first in Dalry PE.
Mrs Mason and Mrs Honeyman got that warn fuzzy feeling as we listened to all the ways in which our children and families have made a difference as part of this terms Building Resilience learning.
Some of the ways they have made a difference include helping out at home, litter picking, planting a wildflower meadow, raising money for charity, building a bug hotel, recycling clothes and toys, looking after baby siblings and writing a rap of ways to save the planet.
We also learned about the way that the staff team have made a difference by running the Edinburgh Marathon in three relay teams. They raised over £800 for Barnardos and Richmond Hope. Both of these charities work with children in our school and make a real difference to their lives.
Please find attached an invitation to Dalry Primary School’s annual community meal to celebrate Eid and the end of term, on Tuesday 18 June. This event is open to all families at the school. There will be food, drinks, candy floss, henna painting, balloon modelling, face painting and games! All proceeds will go to the school.

For example, last time people brought fruit, popcorn, pakoras, pasta salad, shortbread and special foods from their home country etc. Please label any homemade food with allergens/halal/vegetarian.
