The first Parent Council meeting of the year will take place on Monday 9th September from 4-5PM in room 3. (P7 classroom on the ground floor)
There will be a creche for school aged children from 4-5PM in room 7. The creche will be supervised by Miss Smith, one of our Pupil Support Assistants.
One of the items the Parent Council will be discussing are changes to the way in which the EAL (English as an Additional Language) Service will operate. There will be members from the ASL Service to talk to parents and answer any questions.
It is very important that as many parents as possible try to attend this meeting to ensure that your views are heard.
Mr D. ran one of the most anticipated assemblies of the year today.
The Dalry SPorts day and PE Star awards.
The winning teams from the lower and upper school were first up for their medals.
They were followed by Mr D’s PE Stars. Mr D. chooses his PE stars based on who has shown the most effort and determination in PE rather than simply those with the best results. PBs and PMA are first in Dalry PE.
Mrs Mason and Mrs Honeyman got that warn fuzzy feeling as we listened to all the ways in which our children and families have made a difference as part of this terms Building Resilience learning.
Some of the ways they have made a difference include helping out at home, litter picking, planting a wildflower meadow, raising money for charity, building a bug hotel, recycling clothes and toys, looking after baby siblings and writing a rap of ways to save the planet.
We also learned about the way that the staff team have made a difference by running the Edinburgh Marathon in three relay teams. They raised over £800 for Barnardos and Richmond Hope. Both of these charities work with children in our school and make a real difference to their lives.
