Mrs Samina Mustaq, our EAL teacher, met with parents whose children have English as an additional language.
She provide advice and answered the questions parents had about how they could support their child’s English and home language development during their time at nursery and at home.
Afterwards some of our feedback from the parents was:
‘A wonderful session for all other language parents’
‘The EAL Session was very helpful and encouraging’
‘The EAL session was really helpful – solved some of the questions we had’.
We had a lovely morning at the Gorgie/Dalry Toy Library. We found out how to join the Library which has over 240 toys for families to borrow and the children had a great time playing with some of the toys.
The Toy Library is in St. Martin’s, Dalry Road, just along from the school. It is open every Monday between 10am – 11.30am. There is also a parent and toddler group at St Martin’s at the same time. Everyone is welcome!
We are starting to have dates for events that will lead into children starting P1 at Dalry in August 2019.
To keep up to date with these dates and events just check back regularly to our Starting P1 page by clicking here.
Our open day for prospective new children and their families, starting in summer 2019, will be on October 31st.
