The lovely folks at St Brides community centre, just around the corner, have a fabulous Friday planned this week with winter films, food and crafts on offer. Full details on the poster below.
Congratulations to Rozalia in P4 for winning an Edinburgh wide maths contest on the learning game Sumdog.
In the contest the 3509 entrants from across the city had a week to answer 1000 maths questions.
Rozalia came first by answering an amazing 970 questions correctly.
Rozalia has won a certificate for her amazing achievement as well as 6 months of free Sumdog for her class!
Congratulations Rozalia!
Also well done to our other top 50 stars Juan in P3/4 who came 46th and Nell in P4 who came 49th.
Also well done to Akshaj, Samarth, Shriya and Harshu who all made the top 100.
P4 also made it to 10th placed class overall.
All children at Dalry have access to a Sumdog account they can use in school and at home on PCs and tablets. The programme learns their maths ability and tailors the learning to each child. So if you haven’t seen Sumdog yet get your child to login at www.Sumdog.com (just remember not to help them with the answers! If you do it’ll keep giving them harder questions up to S3 level!)
Next week there is a national Sumdog contest. Let’s hope that all the great Sumdog stars at Dalry can do well there too.

It was the Christmas Clan Event this week (full report coming as soon as we get Mr Bennett back from Christmas decorating).
There was a craft tornado sweeping Dalry Primary!
Mrs H-T Hard at work on a Christmas Tree for the school hall, using paper chains and baubles made and decorated by our pupils.
We had a great Christmas Clan Event this week.
The whole school got mixed up within their clan to tour their Clan teacher’s classes doing different Christmas crafts.
We all then came together to share our craftwork.

Thanks to all of our Dalry families that attended our P1-P3 Celebration of Home Learning.
Last week, to celebrate ‘St Andrew’s Day’, all our children were joined by mums, dads, brothers and sisters and Primary 7 too!
We had a very special dance event at St Martin’s Church, led by Caroline from ‘CEILIDH KIDS’. We all learned Scottish Ceilidh Dances!
