Scottish Book Trust Schools Event with Joseph Coelho
Thursday 22nd February
Joseph Coelho will be in school to see children in from P4-P7.
Joseph is a performance poet and playwright who is “a fresh new voice in children’s poetry”. He works tirelessly to dispel the view that poetry is “boring” with his fun and exciting poetry.
Following the event Joseph will sign copies of his books. If your child already owns copies please get them to bring them along to be signed.
Your child can also buy copies of Joseph Coelho’s books on the day (see attached letter for prices).
Children are under no obligation to buy books but if you would like them to we are able to accept cash and cheques (please make them out to Scottish Book Trust).
The snow cleared and the sun came out and we had a brilliant day at the zoo!
We actually got to see the pandas – they were amazing! We saw so many other animals too and really close up – look at our photos of the lions, tigers – ‘ROAR’. Alden is our very brave new friend of the lion! After a whole day out we were really, really tired (some of us fell asleep on the bus!!!!) but we had some great memories to take home with us!
Some more of our nursery children visited the water of Leith centre this week.
We had a great trip, despite the rain! We were mat by Sandie and Ruth who work at the Centre. They told us a story about Ollie the otter who didn’t want to learn to swim and catch his own fish because he didn’t want to get cold in the river water! Then we went for a walk along the Water of Leith riverbank and look for the different places that animals liked to life. By then we were a bit cold and hungry so we came inside and di some lovely art work and had snack too. Thank you to all the parents who came with us. We hope you all enjoyed it!
