P4 Book and Bake sale on Wednesday 26th
P4 & P4/3 are going to have a book & bake sale as part of their ‘running a business enterprise’ & ‘Make a Difference’ topic. The plan is to have it on the morning of Wednesday 26th June in P4 & P4/3’s classroom. (One room will sell books and the other room will sell the cakes.) We are hoping to raise money for 2 local charities, Gorgie Farm& Gorgie Food Bank.
If you would like your child to buy cake or books do send some cash in on the 26th.
P5 John Muir Award Assembly
P5 has been working hard all year towards their Discovery level John Muir Award. Pupils have to discover and explore a wild place. We visited Corstorphine Hill on a number of days during the year. They had to help with a conservation activity and for this the class helped sow a wildflower meadow in Murieston Park which will come into flower in July or August – feel free to visit! Finally the had to share their learning with others. The class has had a lot of fun and led an assembly on 10th June to share what they had done. Well done all!

Fitsteps Dancercise Programme at St Brides
Fitsteps is running at St Brides for two sessions from Monday.
Moving Up Day 2019
Our children who will start P1 enjoyed a very exciting Moving Up Day with their parents in the hall, before enjoying some time in their new classrooms. They all left with a decorated box of goodies to help them get ready for P1 over the summer break.
Thanks to Miss Kelly and Mrs Mason for organising this very well attended and successful event.
Nursery Visit to Botanics
Nursery Parents’ English Support Session
Mrs Mushtaq will be delivering a drop in session to Dalry nursery parents who have English as an Additional Language on how to support the use of their home language and English acquisition on Tuesday 18th June from 9 – 10 am in SfL room.
Do come along.
Dalry Primary Sports Day 2019
The whole school managed to enjoy Sports Day in the playground this morning before the rain started!
A huge thanks to Mr Devine who had everything organised for Sports Day at Tynecastle High School, and adjusted his plans in light of the yellow weather warning for rain. He did a brilliant job of reorganising the potted sports stations in a much smaller space. Thank you to the P7s who helped with the lower school activities. A huge thanks to all staff who adjusted (or gave up their breaks) to allow this to happen in such a tight timescale.

URGENT- SPORTS DAY CHANGES
With a yellow weather warning in place for rain we will unfortunately have to cancel sports day at Tynecastle.
We are going to try to go ahead with a much smaller scale event using out hall and playground. If we need to call off because the rain becomes too heavy we will move the children and equipment indoors.
We are sorry that we have had to make so many changes.
