We couldn’t have a full school sports day this year but that didn’t stop P1/2 having a great sporty morning with help from Ricky from active schools.

P4a, P4b and P5 have been taking part in online art sessions with the City Art Centre.
They entered their pictures into a May contest and lots of them did very well.
Many made the shortlist and Natalia received a gold award!
Have a look below to hear more about our art stars.

Here is a link to view our Nursery to P1 video with an Arabic voice over provided by Ghazal in P7.
We had hoped to provide more translated voice overs in different languages but the production process has proved slow, quite difficult and a far larger time demand on our P7s than expected.
As a result this will be the only translation we are able to make.
A big thank you again to Ghazal for all her hard work on this.

P2 took advantage of the sun this week and did our fractions work outside in the playground. We had to work cooperatively with our partners to make our fraction dice then we used these to play a game call ‘Roll a Fraction.’ The winner was the person who got 5 correct first. Although the wind kept blowing our dice away, we still had lots of fun!

On the back of a very successful ‘Introduction to Girls Rugby’ after-school block Murrayfield Wanderers wanted to let you know they will be extending the programme.

Primary 1s have been busy over the last few weeks learning about the butterfly life cycle and the story of the Hungry Caterpillar. We retold the story of the Hungry Caterpillar using pictures and we drew pictures of different insects in the playground! We have created a lovely display where we hang our jackets of the Butterfly Life Cycle. Well done P1s!

Given COVID safety we can’t do our usual talks for families on the moving up process this year.
Instead we have the power point (with audio notes) linked below.
Hopefully any questions you have about starting P1 will be answered and you’ll learn more about the fun of starting school at Dalry.
