P2a- Latest Roots of Empathy News

This month P2a have been discovering how babies understand long before we realise, so it is very important to communicate and respond to babies. The children enjoyed their visit from baby Angus and his mum Miss Younger, he was showing us how he communicates his feelings and wishes to his mum with body gestures, facial cues and making a variety of sounds. Baby Angus was not feeling well and his mum thinks he may be teething. P2a were sharing with Miss Younger how they feel when they are teething and their new teeth are trying to come through.

The children sang nursery rhymes to Angus and created a book of their drawings which was presented to him, of their favourite nursery rhymes and songs. Also Miss Younger told us all Angus news since we last saw him and how he enjoys the swings at the park. In addition P2a were learning how to read baby Angus’s emotions and this helps us to read each other’s emotions. They noticed that cuddles from his mum, were helping baby Angus feel better.
