P2a have been investigating the properties of 2d shapes.
We made some shapes in class and then took them on a shape hunt around our school grounds. Among others, we found squares, rectangles, pentagons and hexagons!
We’ve also been doing some vexillological shape finding. Looking at shapes in flags.
We will be looking for more shapes around our homes and local environments as part of our home learning tasks.

The playgrounds at Dalry got some fabulous new markings over the summer.
Since we’ve been back the children have loved the new activity trail, the king squares court and the repainted football pitch in particular.
Thanks to the parent council for organising this work and sourcing funds to supply the brilliant results.
Hi, I’m Stella Farrell and I’m an Advice Worker at CHAI Advice Service.
I’m taking over from Beth Hardingham, whom some of you may have met previously.
CHAI stands for Community Help and Advice Initiative and we offer free and confidential advice on a variety of issues including welfare benefits, housing problems, debts and budgeting.
Perhaps you are worried about paying the bills or wonder if you are entitled to any extra financial assistance. I will be available at school every second Wednesday from 9.30-12.30 so if you’d like to have a chat about any of your concerns, please don’t hesitate to book an appointment through the school office.
There is more information on CHAI at Dalry on our web pages here.

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the new school nursing role in Lothian.
Society is changing and so are the needs of children and young people.
The Scottish Government has refocused the roles of School Nurses and Health Visitors in Scotland to ensure the workforce is prepared to meet
the needs of today’s children.
The new School Nursing role relates to the Scottish Government’s Nursing 2030 vision which supports nurses to build working relationships with children and young people who will benefit from specialist support so they can work together to tackle problems at an early stage and prevent future health issues.

made in Lothian, visit: https://services.nhslothian.scot/schoolnursing

(Please note that the summarised inspection findings link will not work on internet explorer and is best viewed with an up to date version of a browser like firefox, chrome, safari or edge.)
Please find an update on Dalry Primary’s 2018/19 plans for both our ‘Health and Wellbeing’, and ‘Building Resilience’ programmes via this link.
