Primary 2B have enjoyed finding out about China. We wrote facts files, tasted Chinese food and created art work. We loved learning a Chinese dance and Chinese stories in drama. It was great fun!

P5 STEM Challenge
P5 were given the STEAM challenge of making a model of a famous French landmark. They spent a lot of times in groups trying out different structures, discussing what worked best and why.
Their structure had to be able to stand on its own, it had to be made up of the same shapes as the real landmark – which was a extra challenge when they only had cubes to use. As you can see in the photos below all groups were successful and could explain the difficulties they had to overcome while constructing their model.

Jessie and Friends Internet Safety
We are marking internet safety week at Dalry Primary this week.
You can get involved at home by watching the Jessie and Friends videos and reading the storybooks with your child, as well as discussing them at home. The site is especially aimed at the 4-7s

P4 Sudanese International Week
P4 are focussing on Sudan for International Week. They thoroughly enjoyed making Sudanese Flatbread (Gorraasa) with some of the Sudanese parents. A big Thank you to all the parents who helped and for the wonderful Sudanese lunch they provided for all the staff.
P5 Drama in International Week
P5 took part in a drama workshop as part of International Week. They had to use drama conventions such as still image to recreate part of a Chinese story that was written to teach people about honesty and integrity. In the story the Chinese Emperor set a competition to choose the next Emperor of China, contestants had to grow a plant from a tiny seed, whoever grew the tallest plant would be the next Emperor. The pupils had to design their own competition and create still images to portray.
P4 Drama
P4 have been enjoying Drama classes this week.
P2a Drama and Scots Singing
P2a have had some great fun at drama and Scots singing recently.
P2a Desayuno
P2a ate a Spanish Breakfast this week as part of international week. The Spanish word for breakfast is desayuno. Thank you to Borja for helping us prepare it.
