Dad’s Rock Father’s Day Tynecastle Takeover
Every Father’s day Dad’s Rock have a celebration of fathers and families. This year they’re heading to takeover the awesome Tynecastle Park and together with Big Hearts and friends will have some outdoor and indoor fun. The takeover event is for all the family (most activities aimed at under 10s)
Carnival Free Offer for Dalry Primary Families
This Saturday the carnival are holding a fun day for all the family. Some relaxed performances in the auditorium plus lots of fun activities for the youngsters to try, including drumming sessions led by local artists Bacary and Jose. Creative movement games from South Africa and Zambia. Contortion performances from Cindy and Maru from Costa Rica, fun characters which will tell stories and share wisdom from our Trinidadian Trio plus headdress making, costumes to try on, face painting and music. Dress up encouraged! It’s carnival time!
Even better Dalry Primary families can have free tickets to this Saturday’s fun day if they show a piece of uniform or any other proof of attending the school.
The café will be in open at St Brides so can grab a snack or some juice before you dive into your next activity.

South West Edinburgh Community Culture Events and Activities
Want to try your hand at fabric crafts, art, Bollywood dance or even stand up comedy?
There are events and courses across south west Edinburgh this summer for you to get hands on with art and culture.
Everything from street parties to woodland walks is available.
The stand-up course for women is free and has a creche.

Eid and End of Term Family Meal
The date for this years Family Meal is going to be Tuesday 18th June 3.30-5PM.
Families can bring food (preferably not with nuts and labelled with veg/halal/allergens etc) and enjoy an end of year celebration.
The event was very popular with all our families regardless of ethnic group or religion. All Welcome!
Sunday Funday 2nd June at St Martins
St Martins Community Resource Centre (232 Dalry Rd) will be holding a fun day on 2nd of june.
‘Magic Ian’ will be performing a magic show from 12.45-1.30,
all welcome, light sandwich lunch and games.
St Bride’s Centre Breakfast Club for Parents and Carers
St Bride’s centre, our local community centre, will be running a breakfast club for parents and carers after school drop off starting on Monday 13th of May.
The sessions aim to offer support through both chat with other parents and carers and also useful training in first aid and other skills for parents.
European Elections and Other Upcoming School Closures
Dalry Primary School will now be closed for use as a polling place in the European elections on Thursday 23rd of May.
Our apologies for the late confirmation of this closure due to the late confirmation of the election taking place.
There are also a number of other days the school is closed this term, all are listed below.
Monday May 6th- Bank holiday
Tuesday May 7th- In Service day staff only
Monday May 20th- Edinburgh Bank Holiday
