The nursery enjoyed the arrival of Spring at Gorgie Farm. We saw goats, ducks, sheep, and lots of pigs and chickens! We even bought chicken eggs and made them into egg sandwiches for our snack the next day. A BIG ‘Thank You’ to all the parents who helped us make this trip and made it such a great day out.
The farm is a great place for families to visit and is just 10 minutes from the school, along Gorgie Road. Their lovely café is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
At the beginning of Term 3 we gave all our nursery families a Parent and Child survey.

Our ‘Top of the Pops’ team popped popcorn all afternoon for the whole popping school during our Spring Fayre. POPitively, POPtastic and POPelicious!!! A BIG POP Thank You to the mum’s of Jashu, Chaitanya and Jaswanth.

The snow cleared and the sun came out and we had a brilliant day at the zoo!
We actually got to see the pandas – they were amazing! We saw so many other animals too and really close up – look at our photos of the lions, tigers – ‘ROAR’. Alden is our very brave new friend of the lion! After a whole day out we were really, really tired (some of us fell asleep on the bus!!!!) but we had some great memories to take home with us!
Oh, what fun the Early Level had celebrating Chinese New Year! We tasted traditional foods, made our own lanterns, dragons and willow plates.
Now we have the beautiful creative work we made and some wonderful memories to take home and share with our families.
Some more of our nursery children visited the water of Leith centre this week.
We had a great trip, despite the rain! We were mat by Sandie and Ruth who work at the Centre. They told us a story about Ollie the otter who didn’t want to learn to swim and catch his own fish because he didn’t want to get cold in the river water! Then we went for a walk along the Water of Leith riverbank and look for the different places that animals liked to life. By then we were a bit cold and hungry so we came inside and di some lovely art work and had snack too. Thank you to all the parents who came with us. We hope you all enjoyed it!
The nursery and P6 children, along with parents and staff, went to St Martin’s Church for a ‘guid ol’ ceilidh. We skipped, twirled and marched our way through the dances and had a great time!
The nursery visited theWater of Leith Visitor Centre on Monday to learn about the effects of winter weather on the natural surroundings.
We met Sandie and Ruth who work there and they took us on walks along the Water of Leith and we also did some creative collages inside inspired by our visit.
