P1 Conkers Autumn
P1 have been using conkers to count with and put them in order from smallest to largest.
We went on a Autumn walk in our playground and found different kinds of leaves, berries, apples and made shadows on the ground and we saw Mrs Smith’s rabbits!
We made print patterns with potatoes and have a lovely display of them in the corridor outside our classroom.
P2 Recycling Task
As part of our Under the Sea topic we have been discussing and investigating pollution of our seas and oceans. As well as that, we have been discussing the effects of single use plastic and why it is important to recycle and reuse.
Our task this week was to sort and organise a variety of items into different recycling bins. We worked hard to share jobs such as cutting and organising, as well as listening to our peers and their suggestions. How do you recycle at home?
Mr Bennett Picks Up The ‘Pop
With Mr Wilson leaving this week we would like to thank Mr Bennett (pictured) for stepping in as our interim crossing patrol while the recruitment for Bill’s successor goes ahead. This has been crucial to help maintain social distancing measures by allowing families to meet in the wider space next to LIDL.
Mr Bennett has now invested in some new shoes to help in this role as the nights draw in.
Lollipopular Mr Wilson Serves His Last Dalry Shift
It was on Wednesday this week, September 30th, that Mr Wilson, who many of us know as Bill, served his last shift on the school crossing ahead of his retirement.
He has been a very popular staff member for all in the school community and the sheer weight of leaving gifts from Dalry families reflected his high standing in the school community and local area.
Since Wednesday we have had enquiries from many local residents as to where Bill is and all asked us to pass on their best wishes for his retirement.
We at Dalry would like to thank Mr Wilson one more time for his years of service keeping us all safe.
P2 Outdoor Gym
P2 enjoyed building on their ball skills this week practising rolling, bouncing, throwing and catching. They have also had the opportunity to work in teams for rely races using different ways of travelling such as running, jumping and skipping.
Nursery Children In the Late Summer Sun
Nursery children enjoying a variety of learning activities, both inside and outdoors, during the last days of summer!
Good Bricks in P1/2
We continue to develop our brick skills in class. The children are using different materials to construct their buildings. This week we have been playing with tigers and other wild animals and this has influenced some of our creations too. Have a look!
The Tiger Who Came to P1/2
This week we have been busy in P1/2….
The children all thought long and hard about why a tiger might want to come for tea and come up with some brilliant suggestions.
We have used our writing and drawing skills to produce shopping lists for Sophie and her Mum to replace all the food the tiger ate and also wrote thank you speech bubbles from the tiger.
The children loved making tigers during craft time. Have a look at our fabulous work!
P2’s Friday Fun
Primary Two have been trying very hard to play nicely with their peers.
This morning, we had a great time enjoying a variety of activities in the classroom. Everyone was having a wonderful Friday morning!
