We’d all like to congratulate Mrs Lockey on her brilliant running in the first ever Stirling Marathon.
She managed to finish in 5 hours, 41 minutes and 42 seconds. Quite an achievement.
Primary 1A have been learning about growing plants.
They planted seeds and some seedlings in the playground and have been watering them and checking on them each week.
It has been very exciting seeing the changes that the plants have made. Hopefully we will have broad beans, lettuce and pumpkins to enjoy soon.
Primary 1 did a community litter pick with the help of some parents and members of Dalry community. Well done to everyone who helped.
The children in primary 1, with the support of parents and members of our community, worked really hard to make our street and playground litter free.
Afterwards, the children learned about landfill sites, recycling, reducing and composting in a litter workshop.
Our pre-school children went to Fountainbridge Library for our Reading Rainbows event.
The children got a bag of books and other items.
One of the books ‘One Mole Digging a Hole’ will be used for our transition activities in the nursery and when we begin Primary 1. We followed a number trail up to the library, listened to the story, did a creative number activity and had snack.
Thank you to everyone who helped us make this such a special day!
We have been learning about the lifecycles of butterflies. As part of our preparation for moving on to Primary 1 we presented an assembly to the whole school about what we learned. Photographs of our work were shown on the Big Screen, we retold the story of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ using props and sang ‘There’s a Tiny Caterpillar on a Leaf’ and everyone joined in. When we finished everyone gave us a very big clap.
Well done nursery!
