Dalry Primary recieved a pair of tickets to the Scottish cup final this week to see our local team Hearts take on Celtic at Hampden Park.
We did a draw for them and Archie in P2 was the lucky winner.

Congratulations to Kevin and Dominik in P7 and all their teammates in the Maradonna 2007s team at Salvesen Community Football Club.
They attended a youth football tournament in Ayr recently, and won!

We’ve been having some American football throwing lessons at lunchtimes in recent weeks, organised by Active Schools and run by Tom from Touchdown UK.
This week Tom also brought in some American football kit for a sporty dressing up session alongside the practice.
P7 recently organised a Spring Fair which was a great success for all of our children. They raised around £220 which will be used to subsidise their end of school celebration.
From beauticians to treasure hunts, games to popcorn all kids of fun was had.
There was much sporting competition to be found at the wellie wanging run by P3.

There are events and courses across south west Edinburgh this summer for you to get hands on with art and culture.
Everything from street parties to woodland walks is available.
The stand-up course for women is free and has a creche.

The date for this years Family Meal is going to be Tuesday 18th June 3.30-5PM.
Families can bring food (preferably not with nuts and labelled with veg/halal/allergens etc) and enjoy an end of year celebration.

P1c enjoying a Caribbean folk dance workshop with Cary Ann and Laytoya who are from Trinidad and Tobago. They are in Edinburgh for the Edinburgh Carnival Festival at St Brides Community Centre in Dalry.
Caterpillars have arrived in primary 2!
Both classes have received five little caterpillars who are busy eating their way through special food (see the base of the pot in the photo). They’ve already started to get bigger and the children are really excited about watching them transform into beautiful butterflies. Watch this space!
P1B enjoyed an Afro Fusion dance workshop with Susan and Pascal from Zambia. This is part of a community link project with St Brides and Edinburgh Carnival.
St Martins Community Resource Centre (232 Dalry Rd) will be holding a fun day on 2nd of june.
‘Magic Ian’ will be performing a magic show from 12.45-1.30,
all welcome, light sandwich lunch and games.
