P1 Sports Morning

The P1s had a great day on Wednesday taking part in Sports Day with help from Ricky, our Active Schools Co-Ordinator! Everyone had lots of fun, had a go at everything and tried their best. Well done! We got a lovely treat of some ice lollies at the end of the morning too.

P1’s Hungry Friends

Primary 1s have been busy over the last few weeks learning about the butterfly life cycle and the story of the Hungry Caterpillar. We retold the story of the Hungry Caterpillar using pictures and we drew pictures of different  insects in the playground! We have created a lovely display where we hang our jackets of the Butterfly Life Cycle. Well done P1s!

Easter Egg Contest Gallery

The Clan Chiefs are hard at work judging the entries to the Easter Egg contest, which will be announced later today.

We have been overwhelmed by the number and quality of the entries this year, especially given we weren’t able again to have a judging in school thanks to the pandemic. Hopefully next year we can do that again, especially given the amazing work by all entrants this year.

Here is a gallery of our amazing entries.

Happy Easter from Dalry Primary

P2 and P1/2 Enjoy Roots of Empathy

This term we have been able to start our Roots of Empathy lessons, the children have been learning how to understand other people’s feelings and their own. The program has been modified so that the children get to know our Roots of Empathy family: baby Alan and mum Jordan through videos and photographs. The lessons are delivered by instructor Mrs Harris-Toner and our ‘little teacher’ is baby Alan. The children have really enjoyed getting to know baby Alan and hear his news.
The children have shared their experiences of lock down through their artwork and the roles they have at home and in school. Last week the children had lots of fun learning about and demonstrating how baby Alan uses body language to communicate his feelings.
For more information please ask Mrs Harris-Toner, Mrs McDermot and Miss McArthur. Also check out http://www.rootsofempathy.org
