We are delighted to announce the launch of the new Guide to Children’s Rights for Parents, Carers and family members.

This much anticipated resource provides information about children’s rights and introduces the United Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). The UNCRC is the internationally mandated children’s rights treaty which sets out the rights that all children and young people should expect and what they need to grow up happy, healthy and safe. It outlines the central role played by parents and families and also recognises that they need protection and assistance to support the rights and wellbeing of their children.

The booklet was created by the UNCRC Parents Network, made up of parenting organisations and Scottish Government policy officials, who have been meeting for over a year to look at how best to inform parents, carers and family members about the rights of their children. It conveys broad universal messaging about children’s rights and has adopted a warm and reassuring tone.

P1 were very lucky to enjoy a visit from a real-life author this week.

Jim Easton read us his story all about Bea and her little pet B, a little bee who gets lost. 

The children really enjoyed talking about their own pets and sharing their own experiences with Jim.

Our Halloween Parties returned this year with P1-3 enjoying Mrs Smith’s amazingly arranged spookfest for the first time!

P1A have had another busy few weeks.

The children have enjoyed developing their brick skills and are beginning to work collaboratively to problem solve and find ways to achieve their plans.
