P3a Really enjoyed their party this week.

P7 enjoyed a great Christmas party this week.

Dear Parents and Carers,
Whilst we have not been able to have our annual Nativity performance all together in school we have still managed to produce a digital version for everyone to enjoy. Primary 1s and P1/2s practised and recorded their singing and dancing outdoors following Scottish Governemnt guidance, P2s from P1/2 were recorded narrating the story and P2s acted out the story on the stage. The very talented Mrs Ewen with some help from Mr Bennett edited the clips and have put together an amazing show for you all to enjoy.
I’d like to thank all of the staff teams in P1, P1/2 and P2 for working their magic to make this all possible for the children, and for the parents and carers to have a lasting memory of their child talking part in this popular annual event.
The whole school watched the premiere at 9.15AM in their classes and P6 were given the link to access at home on Teams whilst they are self-isolating.
Please click on the link below, sit back and enjoy Dalry’s performance of ‘A Bundle of Joy’

All across the school last Thursday a Christmas craft tsunami was taking place.
We weren’t able to do it with mixed ages by clan as in a normal year but each class made some fantastic things and fun was had by all.

Don’t forget to check in on the Dalry Advent calendar daily on the Advent tab on the front page. And on the Twitter feed.
Primary 2 have been learning about ‘Road Safety ‘ and spent last week discussing the focus of O NEED TO SPEED, based on this year’s Road Safety Week campaign. This week, we looked at how we can ‘Be Bright Be Seen‘ during the dark winter nights and what equipment could be useful when out walking or cycling. We had great fun in the dark classroom, using a torch to shine on different pieces of clothing and equipment to see if they would be helpful to us or not. We hope that everyone continues to wear bright clothing when out at night, find safe places to cross the road OR use The Green Cross Code to help them.

A massive WELL DONE to Advik and Aashmi who came in the top 10 students in the Edinburgh Sumdog Contest last week. Fantastic!

Our P2 class also came 14th overall. A big well done to all the other successful pupils and classes from Dalry who performed brilliantly #teamdalry
(Sumdog is a maths website used by schools all over the world. Your child has an account and can use it at home as well. It adapts as they learn so only help with questions not answers or you’ll end up doing S3 maths)

P4B had fun making Diva lights holders and fireworks to celebrate Diwali.

Primary 4 designed amazing puppets during their 3 weeks masterclass. They were excited to take them home and show their puppets to their families.
