P4/5 went back to the forest this week for more fun and learning.
This week the focus was on the trees and identifying them.
P3 have been working on improving their cooperative skills and this week, they put these skills to practise when taking part in dice games and ICT activities to focus on doubling numbers.
Check out the excited faces, and some disappointed faces too. They are quite a competitive bunch!

P1A have settled into life at school beautifully and are all enjoying their busy days.
We have started to investigate our school, looking at the people in our school who help us and exploring the other classrooms and playgrounds.
Mrs Smith also introduced us to the gorgeous rabbits in the first level playground.

The pupils have been asking some big questions about the moon and some of the planets and an alien called Pog must have heard, as they crashed into our classroom and left some bits of their space craft behind while trying to fix it.

Pog said they were from Mars and left a letter asking for some information from the pupils about the moon.
The pupils gathered evidence from the scene to discuss what might have happened. Some pupils also tried to rebuild a space craft.
The pupils created their own character called Pog which they will use while they learn about story structure, creating their own version of ‘Man in the Moon’ by Simon Bartram.
I’m excited to see where the pupils will take our learning next!

P2 worked together to create their class charter. We have all agreed to follow SHANARRI, making sure everyone is Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Nurtured, Responsible, Respected and Included.
P2 were also introduced to the United Nations Convention of the Child, which is all about Children’s Rights. We have discussed what adults should do to make sure their rights are respected.
Every day P2 put their peg name onto an emotion symbol to show how they are feeling each day. We are learning about different emotions and how body sensations change with our emotions.

This term in P3 we are exploring 3D shapes. This week we took part in a partner STEM task to build 3D shapes using lollipop sticks and playdough. I think the results are fantastic! We definitely have some budding architects in our class .
