Online Maths Circle- Saturday 26th March 2022

An online Maths Circles is one hour long events for 7-14 years old and their families. Children have a chance to tackle a variety of mathematical problems guided by University of Edinburgh staff and students. They are encouraged to behave as little mathematicians as they make conjectures, explore and explain possible solutions to open ended questions. We think these event would benefit all students, and not only the high achieving.

Most of the activities we use during our Maths Circles are courtesy of nRich (https://nrich.maths.org/

The next online Maths Circle will be this Saturday (26th March). Attendance is free but booking is required.

Circles in Maths, Nature and Everyday Life (Edinburgh Science Festival): 9th- 13th April 2022

In April 2022 we will contribute to the Edinburgh Science festival with a drop-in session taking place at the National Museum of Scotland. Our activities will explore the characteristics of the circle, and how such characteristics underpin various aspects of science, technology and everyday life, such as using a map or rolling a coin through a vending machine.
