P3 STEM Eiffels

Primary 3 have been focusing on their French language skills this year and after learning lots about French culture, took part in a STEM activity whereby they had to build an Eiffel Tower using only paper straws, scissors and sellotape.  After much group discussion and trial and error, I think they were very successful at creating towers which stood up on their tables without support!

Fareshare Food Recycling

Fareshare have been dropping off food from local supermarkets on some Fridays for the school community to take as needed.

This is a green initiative to reduce food waste which is great timing with COP26 taking place in Scotland. So do your bit to help reduce food waste and take something home. Check the playground on Fridays after school.

Have You Achieved Something Special Outside of School….

If one of the children in the Dalry community has achieved something special outside of school, from sporting success to chess, from environmental work to volunteering, or even an especially interesting activity, we love to hear about it in school.

If you think it’s worth a shout out here on the website as well then either talk to Mr Bennett if you see him or send an email and photo or two adressed to FAO Mr Bennett to the school’s admin email address.

Wider Achievements are celebrated in news posts which are also filtered in the wider achievments menu of the website.

Our Clan Chiefs 2021-22

Before the half term holidays Dalry Primary was experiencing election fever as the annual vote to choose our Clan Chiefs and Deputes arrived.

Our Elected Representatives for 2021-22

In the weeks before polling day the candidates wrote and performed amazing video hustings speeches and produced brilliant campaign posters. Many staff commented that this election was the hardest and most passionately fought in their time at Dalry. Each morning before school and at break and lunch candidates were seen canvassing for support and waving banners.

Dalry democracy has never been healthier.

Our election day results were announced by Mr Linton and P6 who put on a brilliant election day special assembly teams call.

It was only last week that Mrs Honeyman was able to present the successful candidates with their official badges of office. So now that they have their proper accoutrements of office let us present the Chiefs and Deputes for 2021-22

Great Work

There’s a lot of great work going up on display all around the school at the moment. Well done on the hard work to all the classes and well done on the hard work to all the staff putting up displays, but most of all to our queen of the staple gun, Mrs Arundel.
