Future of Foster Care Scotland
The Future of Foster Care in Scotland public consultation launched on 24 October 2024 and will close on 6 February 2025.
The purpose of the consultation is to hear your views on our proposed vision for fostering and flexible fostering approach, which seek to meet the specific and unique needs of children and young people, respond to changes in the sector and support the delivery of The Promise. The consultation also looks to understand how we can improve the status, recognition and value given to foster carers; and your views on how we can meet the challenges in the retention and recruitment of foster carers.

Proposals for the new Murieston Play Park
Primary 3/4 and P4 were involved in the consultation for the development of the new park at Murieston Place. The proposed design looks like an exciting addition to our local area.
Masterclasses
Masterclasses are back for 2025!
Our Masterclass Programme for P3 to P7 started back last week with various skills based classes for the children to choose from. This time around we have the following activities on offer- bridge, cycling, Chinese cooking, Stop Motion Animation, Book Group, STEM Lego Challenge, sewing, traditional games, Garage Band, Fitness, STEM Challenge and chess.

The Sorries Scots Assembly

We all enjoyed a very special Scots Assembly to launch our Scots Focus Fortnight with ‘The Sorries’ who led us in music and song performances. We also listened to Scots poetry recitals from P4 and P6, and a rendition of ‘Auld Lang Syne’ from P7.
Our P4 to P7 classes also enjoyed a Bodrum drumming workshop led by Douglas as part of this special day.
Free afterschool clubs at the Hearts Innovation Centre
The Hearts Innovation Centre is hosting two clubs for primary aged children this term, held right here at Tynecastle Park.
Curiosity in Action 2 is a practical, hands-on science club where they will do experiments and learn from ‘real life scientists’.
Arcade Academy is a club teaching how to build video games, with a focus on healthy eating.
Both of these clubs are totally free of charge, running 4:30pm-6:00pm. Curiosity in Action will be on Tuesdays, beginning the 28th of January for 6 weeks and Arcade Academy will be on Wednesdays, beginning on the 29th of January for 8 weeks.
They can sign up here with general admission tickets becoming available at 5pm on the 20th of January:
