A busy end of term in P5!

P5 have been using their imagination to come up with some creative writing ideas, taking inspiration from a selection of images. We have also made pop art words to stick up on our ‘wow’ words display board.

The pupils have been learning how to create presentations on the iPads and showcase their knowledge of volcanoes which we have been learning about in our natural disasters topic. The class continues to take part in their swimming lessons and have been working hard in all other areas of the curriculum.

Bikeability in P5 and P6

All of our P5 and P6 pupils took part in Bikeability training this week and last week. Many were supported to learn how to ride a bike for the first time by Mrs Harris-Toner, and lots of children were able to improve their cycling skills with the support of Miss Low. Well done to everyone involved!

A busy start to P5!

We have had a great start settling in to P5. The class have started their swimming block and have taken part in bikeability and judo sessions. We have started our new class topic – natural disasters and have been learning lots in numeracy, literacy and health and wellbeing. Here are some photos of a STEM challenge where the class were tasked with creating their own mini golf hole. We worked on our teamwork, communication and creativity skills during this.

P4/5 and P4 Zoo Trip

‘P5/4 and P4 had a great day at Edinburgh Zoo on Tuesday, (despite the weather!) We were lucky to see lots of the animals and were particularly excited to see the pandas after taking part in our show Bamboozled. We also took part in a session called ‘Big Endangered Animals Game’, which was great fun and a win for Team Lion.’

Upper School Sports Day 2023

2 weeks ago it was sports day. As always it was organised by Mr D, with help from our active schools co-ordinate Ricky.

Our upper school went second and split into country teams to try lots of stations with sports from football to Javelin. The sack race station was particular fun.

It all finished off with running races, Tug of War contests and ice lollies for all.

Winners’ medals and the winning country will be presented at Mr D’s sports ceremony next week.
