P1 had great fun making shadow puppets of the characters from the Diwali story. They worked very hard using their cutting skills. Well done P1!

Hi Scott, could these pics go out on the website please with this text: P4a learned about Diwali celebrations. We made our own diwa lamps, sparklers and coloured in rangoli patterns. Happy Diwali to all!

P6 had a fun filled afternoon getting active (and muddy) with Ricky at Muiriston park! The focus was on team work, communication and listening skills. We played Rock, Paper, Scissors tag, elephant volleyball and relay races. We’re already looking forward to our next session!

Masterclasses have started! But this year we are doing them in class groups.
For the next 3 weeks P6 will be using their STEM skills to create a stop motion animation! This week they made a start on constructing their plasticine characters and began to discuss plots for their animation film!

Primary 1 had great fun during STEM time this Friday. We made our own fireworks using different materials and worked in groups.

P4a had fun teaching Ms Shepherd how to play their new game of Cops and Robbers. They also enjoyed their Hama beads masterclass.

We have been making the most of our talent this year to explore two very different artistic styles. We have used the art and design skills of Scotland’s own Charles Rennie MacIntosh to create the beautiful McIntosh Rose, and the Pointillisme dot-colouring technique of French Impressionist Georges Seurat to create stunning Sunflowers.

As part of our Talk for Writing programme, P5/6 have been generating visual storyboards in order to illustrate the various stages in the development of an imaginative story.

These storyboards help us to plan, block and paragraph the various steps in the story.
