P5 Mandarin Launch at the Museum
P5 returned to the National Museum of Scotland today to launch the Mandarin Education video and hunt they assisted in developing. P4/5 were invited along to the launch as well as pupils from 3 other schools in Scotland. P5 had to plan and deliver a presentation before they all went on a hunt to find the Chinese objects. The aim was to learn the main colour on the object in Mandarin. Reporters from the Evening News were in attendance so look out for the article and photos from the launch. All the pupils performed with confidence, I was proud of their enthusiasm and commitment.
Before returning to school we had time to explore the museum and have some fun.

P1 and P1/2 Scottish Country Dance
As part of our Scotland topic we have been learning some of the key skills involved in Scottish country dancing. We can all now dance a simple reel together and have really enjoyed listening to Scottish music during these sessions. We have loved teaming up with Blythe boys and girls from P1. Miss Low is a fantastic caller and coach!

Thank you Sorries and well done all performers.
STEM Masterclasses
We started the New Year with a bang and launched our new STEM masterclasses. The children from P3 to P7 enjoyed a wide choice of STEM activities including coding, pixel art, robotics, puppet making, cooking, baking, clay model making, ICT games, Stop Motion Animation, weaving, Hammabead design, Garage Band and chess. We were fortunate to be joined by our STEM ambassador Colin and supporters from our local building Scottish Building society, as well as school volunteers and Allessandra our newest JET student.
