Fun Football Sessions

The City of Edinburgh Council’s fun football programmes will be starting soon, delivered in conjunction with the Scottish Football Association.

Both the Joelle Murray and Player Development Centres take place at Forrester / St Augustine’s Community Sports Hub on a Friday afternoon and are perfect for players of all abilities and experience. All sessions are delivered by Scottish FA-qualified coaches focusing on skill development, fun and small-sided matches.

Also attached are details of our Saturday morning ‘Mini Kickers’ programme for 3-5 year olds

Hearts Introduce Tynecastle Play The Game Centre

Tynecastle Play the Game Centre, in partnership with Tynecastle High School and Edinburgh Active Schools, is a brand new football session for P6-S2 students on Friday afternoons.

The centre offers youngsters the opportunity to participate in games–based activity and matches from 1:00-2:00pm on the Community Pitch at Tynecastle Park and Tynecastle High School.

Amazing Wicker Sculpture Art Workshop

Do you want to contribute to an art project that will link all of Scotland during Edinburgh’s Hogmanay? Would you like to have been part of the Year Of Young People?

Get along to a free wicker workshop on 7th of October to build an amazing piece of community art that will be burned at Hogmanay as a way to mark the close the Yoear Of Young People and the city’s torchlight procession.

IRONKIDS

Calling all budding IRONKIDS

IRONKIDS Scotland is coming to Edinburgh and is open to kids of all abilities – aged 3 up to 14 years.

It’s a series of three fun, family-focused running events being staged in and around Edinburgh on 29 and 30 June.

There are age group races of between 500m and 2km, spectator friendly courses, free live entertainment, activities, and sports taster sessions.

The IRONKIDS events are at:

  • Dalkeith Country Park, from 4pm, Friday 29 June
  • Preston Links, Prestonpans, from 11am, Saturday 30 June
  • Holyrood Park, from 3pm, Saturday 30 June

Entry is only £4 per young person (plus a small booking fee). The cost includes an IRONKIDS T-shirt and a Finishers Medal.

IRONKIDS Scotland 2018 is an exciting addition to the IRONMAN 70.3 Edinburgh race weekend and part of the global IRONKIDS running series. They are also a key part of Scotland’s Year of Young People 2018 celebrations
