P2 have been learning about data handling. They are becoming more confident with the meaning of data is and how they can use data.

To design a new car pupils wanted to know the most popular car colour to make sure more people would but their car.
They took a tally of car colours that passed the front of the school.
They turned the tally marks into a table, then into a bar graph. Finally they designed their cars based on the most popular car colour they saw.
We discussed the pupils different results and why we didn’t get an accurate answer to their question ‘what’s the most popular car colour?’ But they enjoyed the process and became more confident with the concept of data.
