P1/2 have received the fabulous Bookbug and Read Write Count bags today.
We had so much fun reading all the books and completing writing and art and craft activities related to them. P” also enjoyed trying out their story cubes and “Talk it Out” and “Act it Out” cards!
Make sure to have a look at the parent information included in the bag.
Have fun!

Brainwaves!
P5/6 have been investigating how we learn. We are learning that our brains are incredibly flexible and that with effort and exercise, we can train them to more effective. As part of our learning, we made Brain Hats, illustrating the different areas of our brains and their functions.

To celebrate Diwali, P2 read the story of Rama and Sita, made paper Diya hanging decorations and drew Rangoli chalk patterns in the playground. We especially enjoyed making our beautiful decorations and bringing them home to show our families.

We have been really busy preparing for Diwali in class this week. We used clay to make gorgeous DIya, painting them white and then decorating with colourful paints and glitters. Our Rangoli mat was a collaborative effort and looks amazing at our classroom door. One of our lovely P2 girls preformed a spectacular dance and performed a show with puppets! Well done P1/2 and Happy Diwali!

In our P1/2 STEM masterclass this week we began to learn about programming. We loved using our Beebots and took turns programming them to travel to our friends! Next week we will be learning how to instruct them to turn left and right.

P1 had great fun making shadow puppets of the characters from the Diwali story. They worked very hard using their cutting skills. Well done P1!

Hi Scott, could these pics go out on the website please with this text: P4a learned about Diwali celebrations. We made our own diwa lamps, sparklers and coloured in rangoli patterns. Happy Diwali to all!

P6 had a fun filled afternoon getting active (and muddy) with Ricky at Muiriston park! The focus was on team work, communication and listening skills. We played Rock, Paper, Scissors tag, elephant volleyball and relay races. We’re already looking forward to our next session!
