Dalry Rising Star on the Red Carpet

Poppy in P4 recently entered the EE Mini Movie Makers contest and she was the second in her category.

She won her a trip to the BAFTAs last Sunday as a red carpet reporter! Poppy got to enter many big movie stars at the BAFTAs including Colin Farrell, Brendon Gleason, Brendon Fraser, Naomi Ackie and Andy Serkis!

Raphael at the Gang Show

Rafa in P5 has been performing in the Gang Show along with 250 Edinburgh children. Rafa and all the other children have worked hard in rehearsals over the last few months and they are all did an amazing job on stage night after night for a week. The Gang Show is an event organised by the scouting and girl guide associations.

P6 Winter Windows Winners

We have lots of P6 winners in the Edinburgh Winter Windows contest.

We entered the competition again this year and we have two winning designs!

Nate (individual)

and Prithvi /Raul/Eli/Hassan (Group).

They’ll be on display in the quadrangle of the City Chambers, which is also the prize location of the 5 allocated.

Wider Achievements – Rafa Runs

On Sunday Rafa did his 10th Junior Parkrun. 

The Edinburgh Junior Parkrun is for 5- 14 year olds. It is a free, volunteer event held at the Meadows every Sunday morning- and a great way to get kids excited about being active. It is a 2km run.

Wider Achievements- Samskrita Sings

Samskrita in P3 has been doing classical singing at Edinburgh Cultural centre in recent weeks.

Yet More Amazing Chess News!

Vedanth in P4 received a trophy for achieving 3rd place in the P5 & Under category in the Chess Scotland Primary Individual Championship 2021 tournament. He competed against 100 participants playing against children of all ages till P7 and was 12th overall in spite of being up to 3 years younger than some competitors.

MAJOR Chess Success, Dalry Tops Scotland Table

Our chess team has scored a major success, topping the Scottish table in the mega finals of a prestigious competition and leading a field including such Edinburgh Schools as South Morningside, Corstorphine, Fettes and George Watsons.

The team were playing online in the Delancey UK schools championship, a UK wide contest.

In the whole UK rankings Dalry Primary were placed 49th.

2 of our players, Rishon and Alden have now qualified for the upcoming gigafinals.

Congratulations boys and good luck in the gigafinals.
