Jim Douglas Citizenship Award 2022

Created by the family of Jim Douglas, a former Dalry pupil who left Edinburgh to become a leading publisher in Canada, the Jim Douglas award celebrates outstanding contribution to the school from a pupil in P5-7 who has embodied our school values:

Together we are respectful, included, responsible and kind.

The 2022 recipient was tireless campaigner Nell in P7. In the presentation Mrs Honeyman particularly underlined the massive contribution from Nell in pupil grouops this year.

WE HAD AN ASSEMBLY!!!

For the first time since March 2020 we had a full school assembly at Dalry.

To put that in context Our P3s last went to assembly over 1/3 of their lives ago and the P1s and P2s have never had a full school assembly.

There was a lot of excitement and many happy faces as we were able to celebrate certificates of achievment at all levels to gold and a very sepcial medal for Saanvi in P7!

It was amazing to have this massive step on the road back to normal. It feels like we are almost there.

Don’t Lose Your Lunchbox!

This picture is of a small section of our football playground at the end of a lunchtime.

We of course always try to reunite lunchboxes, tiffin tins and tupperwares with their owners at the time but as you can see from the picture the amount of lost items, and number lacking identifying features, can make be hard.

Sadly our lost property turns into a lunchbox mountain over the course of a term.

So if you can in any way mark your boxes with a name that would be very helpful. Either written in permament marker on the box, written on masking tape on the box or a proper name sticker. Even just a big sticker with a picture on that help’s the child identify their box and be a bit keener to care for it can help.

If you have lost a lunchbox or any property remember to check lost property.
