As part of Dalry’s Health week P5/4 have been trying taekwondo. Check out the high kicks!
Recently most of our classes have been out in the playground playing with all our new loose play equipment.
The children have shown their fantastic creativity and made up all sorts of interesting structures and games. They will be lots more opportunities for classes to go out again!
Primary 3 were learning about the world through creative play during their loose parts play session this week. We saw some engineers, explorers, inventers, beauticians, builders and problem solvers to name but a few!
Loose parts introductory sessions are going on throughout the school at present as we roll out our loose parts play programme.
P3a have really been enjoying having the gym back for PE since the roofworks completed earlier this year. Tom and Alexandros have been working hard.
P3a’s Meercats team have been working really hard on their maths. They’re turning into true mathcats!
Science challenge – The Children were investigating how water turns to ice, how cold ice is, how quickly it melts and what materials are best to prevent ice from melting (keeping a water bottle cool)
P3 learned about writing instructions in an unusual way recently.
First they made jam sandwiches, but whilst doing it they had to notice all the stes they took.
Then they wrote out their own recipe instructions for the sandwiches.
At the end of last term P3 had their trip to the zoo to see the pandas as part of our work withthe confucious institute.
The children had a great day seeing all the animals and also got to take part in a a woodland creature wookshop, finding lots of creepy crawlies under logs and rocks.
P3a were given the opportunity to try on a real Japanese kimono and try out some Japanese games.
As it was so hot, we created a comparison poster about school life in Japan and Scotland outside in the playground.
