P3b were learning about the artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh throughout our recent Scottish week, and created our own Mackintosh roses.

P5 returned to the National Museum of Scotland today to launch the Mandarin Education video and hunt they assisted in developing. P4/5 were invited along to the launch as well as pupils from 3 other schools in Scotland. P5 had to plan and deliver a presentation before they all went on a hunt to find the Chinese objects. The aim was to learn the main colour on the object in Mandarin. Reporters from the Evening News were in attendance so look out for the article and photos from the launch. All the pupils performed with confidence, I was proud of their enthusiasm and commitment.
Before returning to school we had time to explore the museum and have some fun.
It has been Scots week all week at Dalry Primary.
We had our Scots week visit from The Sorries who taught some of our classes the bodhran and then performed a show of traditional Scottish songs for us.
the first half our classes also performed their Scots week poems (the second half are next week.
Thank you Sorries and well done all performers.
P1 had a rocking christmas Party!
They played games like musical statues and pass the parcel and they had a very special visitor.
(apologies if your child was too excited/shy/swift to get a great Santa pic. Mr Bennett tries to get everybody but there are always a couple who have too much fun to be still!)
Christmas Party Dalry Nursery style!!!
We had lots of fun, dancing, playing games, a piano recital from Jan’s daddy AND we all got a present from Santa too! Then we all went back to the nursery and had lovely food and a raffle with lots of fabulous prizes – thank you to Mrs Brown for organising this. We hope you all enjoyed the event and we wish you all Happy Christmas and New Year- love from all the staff at the nursery.
We had an amazing Christmas Enterprise day on Wednesday. The Clan Chiefs and Deputes planned a range of wonderful Christmas and Winter Christmas craft activities for all of the children in their own Clans with the staff. Thanks to the huge amount of parents who volunteered to come in and support this fabulous festive event. A big thank you to Mrs Mason and Miss Kelly who organise this event behind the scenes, and make sure it runs smoothly every year! We all had so much fun!
