remembering your lines days,

part of the flock days,

choosing days,

transition days,

singing days,

international days,

Scottish days,

night out days,

team days,

but most of all, in spite of everything we faced this year, we made sure we had Dalry Days.

As we possibly won’t be back to a normal lesson set up after the summer holidays, I’m looking for some feedback from students and parents/carers on the materials that I have provided over the past few weeks. I would like to say a HUGE thank you to all of the performers who have taken part in Dalry’s Got Talent 2020!

Thank you to the parents and carers as well who helped to record the wonderful performances and send them in. 

There was an incredible number of entries so I have had to create two shows! The first show is for the Nursery to P2 performers and the second show is for P3 to P7.
All of the performers will be receiving their prize in the post soon.

Before  We Give You The Home Learning…

…be sure to check back here on Tuesday for the unveiling of the Dalry’s Got Talent 2020 showreel. Mrs Ewen is working super hard to process all the amazing entries for us.

And do look out for summer fun suggestions for home activities both in the list below and through the week.

New Teacher Videos

We normally have a special moment in school each year, where the children move class for half a day to meet their new teacher. This year we can’t do that but you can meet the new teacher at home.

New teacher reveal videos have been made by the teachers and Mr Bennett and will be out on Monday in the newsletter and by parent mail. To share in the fun be sure to watch them with your child BEFORE telling them who their teacher is.

If you are in P1 or P1/2 also be sure to wait for the email so you get the right classes. All other classes are moving up in the obvious manner (P2a becomes P3a, P4/5 becomes P5/6 etc) so when the list comes watch the video with your child before telling them who their new teacher is!

P7 Goodbye and 2020 Awards

P7 pupils visited the playground yesterday as part of their transition project to leave their goodbye messages to one another and to the school.

We surprised Raul in P6, who was visiting with his sister Christina, by presenting him with the Citizenship Award. Raul was presented with this award for consistently demonstrating our school values. ‘Together we are respected, responsible, included and kind’.

Later that afternoon Aoife was surprised when she arrived and was presented with The Cup of Kindness for demonstrating a consistently kind and caring attitude throughout her time at Dalry.

Mr D popped into the playground an presented both Meda and Andrei with his Mr D PE Superstar awards. It was lovely to see so many of our P7 pupils and their parents one final time across the day safely  in a socially distanced manner.

Thanks to Miss Curran for organising the transition event so well, and for taking the time to say goodbye to her children and their families who were able to visit as part of their daily exercise.
