Section 30 of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980 clearly states that parents do not have an automatic right to take their child out of school during term time.

Parents who chose to do so may be adversely affecting their child’s educational progress.

However, for some pupils these trips may be of great religious, cultural or family significance.

If you wish to apply to take your child on such a trip then please read through and complete the attached information and application form. On completion please return it to the school office and we will endeavour to give you our response promptly.
