P3a Spring Haiku

P3a have been creating beautiful spring haiku.

Haiku are a Japanese form of poetry that uses a three line format and restricted numbers of “morae” which are similar to our syllables.

They also work to juxtapose two ideas and have a kind of fulcrum word where the balance shifts from one to the other.

They are often related to a spring or natural subject. So with spring in the air and P3a doing Forest Schools it’s the perfect time for trying them out.

Five Little Dinosaurs

One little dinosaur went out to play

Soon, they’ll come creeping out of their hive

1, 2, 3, 4, 5!

Buzz, Buzz, Buzz!

WIGGLY WOO

There’s a worm at the bottom of the garden
And his name is Wiggly Woo.
There’s a worm at the bottom of the garden
And all that he can do,
Is wiggle all night
And wiggle all day
Whatever else the people do say,
There’s a worm at the bottom of the garden
And his name is Wiggly Woo.
